I just realized that everything in me is part of everyone I’ve ever met, even loved. Like, I don’t hesitate to show affection openly because my parents do the same. I also really like movies because I’m used to watching movies with my family.
Sometimes, people are surprised when I say that I travel alone more often than with others, without realizing that I dare to travel alone because I’ve seen my sister do the same.
One day, my friend asked me, “Why do you cook noodles like that?”. I was surprised because I thought that’s how you cook noodles. It turns out, I cook noodles the same way my mom does.
Again, because of my mom, I also listen to other’s people stories attentively, just like how she always listens to mine.
Everyone has their favorite things in life, and so do I. I love one of my books just because a friend who borrowed it from me covered it beautifully. Also, I still frequently wear my school farewell shirt from 9 years ago.
And surprisingly, the lock screen password that I’ve been using since high school is also used by my close friends.

It’s just like the song called “Cherry” by Harry Styles. Like, the way we dress, the way we behave, the way we interact, or simply the way we eat, can unconsciously remind us of someone we’ve met, even if it was just briefly.
Like me, I’ve realized that I always make an effort to dress up when I go out because I secretly hope to run into someone I miss by chance. And it’s funny how I always end up buying perfumes that have a similar scent to the boy I used to be close to.
And every Marvel movie always reminds me of someone I love because he was such a big fan of those films. Strangely enough, I’ve ended up liking those movies too.
Then, without me realizing it, I’ve also become good friends with a friend of the guy I’ve secretly loved for so long.
We are born with an empty vessel in us, and as we go through life, we fill it up. Every aspect of who we are is a mix of behaviors, looks, feelings, and experiences from people we’ve loved for years to those we’ve glimpsed in the blink of an eye.
